here's a little something...

... to look at while I play catch up from our trip to California.  We had  such a great time visiting family, but it went by too fast - as it always does.  As much fun as it is to be away from home, it's always the best feeling to be back again.  There's nothing like home is there?  Apologies to my clients who are waiting on pictures and/or orders - I'm working as hard as I can to get it all done!  In the meantime, I just had to post something... so here ya go!  PS - Stay tuned: I'm working on a really cool giveaway for you!

craftiness {johnson city tn photographer}

Look what I made!!!! {with lots and lots of help from my super duper artistic sisters might I add.... but still!!!}  It's for my son's room.  You don't think it looks too 'girly' do you?  It was fun meshing all of our ideas together to create these - and I couldn't be happier with how they turned out.  PS: I don't know if you can see too well, but some of the leaves are clippings from magazines (the words) the other ones are scrapbooking paper.  Then we painted Mod Podge all over it to seal it and give it a soft glossy but still matte finish.  What do you think?

my baby... {johnson city tn children's photographer}

My baby... isn't a baby anymore!!  He's now three years old and talks 100 miles a minute!!  He is so crazy, but so much fun.  I always seem to have more pictures of him because my daughter is completely over the whole 'taking pictures' thing.  Well, at least when I'm the one with the camera.  I'm sure it wont be too much longer until little bro joins the club, so I figure I should get it in while I can.  He's a good sport about me taking his picture.  It is hard though, to get a 'real' face out of him... he's always being silly - or talking.  (see first pic below)  I love my kiddos.  They're hard work - but oh so worth it.

isn't this cute??? {photographer in johnson city tn}

I have the coolest friends.  My sister just had twin boys {can't wait to see them in just a few days!!} and my friend who has only met her once, made her the CUTEST little softies... or whatever they're called.  What would you call them??  I don't know!  They're a blanket, they're a toy, they're a snuggle bug - they're adorable.  When she handed them to me she was like, "Oh I just threw these together last night... they're uneven and blah blah blah..."  All I was thinking was how stinkin cute they were and how I could never make something so crafty!! To show you just how much I love these things  I took some pics of them {hopefully Beli wont mind!}!!!!  I think she should start selling them on Etsy.  How would you like to have a giveaway for a couple of these??  Let me know what you think  - and while you're at it - enter to win the current giveaway for some cute baby bows by {clicking here}.

sprinkles & such {i heart cupcakes}

My wonderfully talented sister, Rashauna recently started up a cupcake and cake design business: Sprinkles & Such (site still in progress).  I've been lucky enough to be her constant sampler... tasting all of the cute and tasty concoctions she comes up with.  I must admit - I'm a diagnosed foodie - whatever that means.  And possibly even more than I love eating food, I love LOVE looking at (good) pictures of food.  I think that's why I love magazines so much.  Speaking of amazing pictures of food, a great site to check out is The Pioneer Woman.  {think: photography, recipes, good reads, gardening etc.}  She's hilariously honest and just basically awesome.  I'm getting off track...

The other day I took some shots of my sis in action.  She was making cupcakes for a baby shower.  I'm thinking a giveaway for some free cupcakes is in order.  {I'm also thinking I should run that by her first}.  So stay tuned!!  Meanwhile - enjoy drooling over this.... I know I am.

I think I'm still in shock over the events of last night.  It had been {to say the least} a very, very long day.  We were winding down and almost ready for bathtime when the kiddos asked to go outside for a bit.  They were playing outside happily when I noticed how perfect the lighting was... so of course I had to grab my camera.  Over the past year of so, my kids have begun a ritual of running away when they see me with a camera in my hand.  But not last night!!  They were so sweet and agreed to let me snap a few of them together - which is what I can NEVER seem capture: the two of them together - and happy!!  I just love these pics, and even more, love THESE KIDS!!  What would I do without them?
