Revolution Dance & Gymnastics - sneak peek {East TN Photographer}

I was excited when Kate asked me to take pictures for their new dance and gymnastics studio in Gray, TN - Revolution Dance & Gymnastics.  I always love doing something different and I love, love dance - so it's a double win for me!!  The girls were so beautiful and talented...  It was fun getting creative and capturing all of their amazing skills in action.  Some of my favorites are the outdoor pictures.  The images with the white backgrounds are going to be used on their website - so check it out soon for an updated look!  There are tons more where these came from, but here's something to look at while I work on them.  Enjoy the sneak peek and thanks to all the gals at Revolution for an awesome session!

If you haven't already - check out Revolution Dance & Gymnastics on facebook {HERE} for current classes and open gym schedules.  You'll love it!!

urban ballerina - sneak peek {tri cities tn photographer}

OH. MY. GOSH.  I can't even begin to tell you how much FUN this was... Ever since Jessica contacted me about doing some headshots and fun dance/ballet action shots, I've been looking forward to it.  I met Jessica back when I took pictures for her adorable baby girl, who is no longer a baby anymore!  You can see her cutie pie {HERE}.  When we were getting the session set up Jessica sent me a link to this super artsy and creative project called the ballerina project, you can see it on facebook by clicking {HERE}.  Anyways, I think it's been a while since I've shot just an adult... it was SO easy.  She stood where I told her to stand, I didn't have to chase after her... haha!!  I LOVE shooting kiddos, don't get me wrong - it was just very refreshing to spend the evening with Jessica.  She is so talented and beautiful.  I hope you enjoy looking at these images as much as I do.  If only I could bend my body that way.... Thanks again Jessica!  Enjoy!

weddings... no more. {tri cities tn children's photographer}

I am sad to announce that I will no longer be shooting weddings.  It's a very bittersweet decision for me, as I absolutely love capturing such a special moment and day in the lives of my awesome clients - however ask any wedding photographer - it's a stressful and time-consuming job!!  I'm sure in the future I will shoot weddings again, and will still possibly shoot an occasional wedding here and there, but my main focus at this point in my life is my sweet little family.  I was one stressed out woman - which translates into one stressed out mommy and wife!! haha  I really feel that this decision will help to relieve some of that stress and allow me to focus not only on my own family (although they do come first!), but shooting families, children and babies, senior portraits, couples and individuals - which I love doing so much!!

I have one last wedding scheduled in May and I just know that it will be the perfect finale.  The bride is one of the most beautiful, sweet, adorable and kind women I have ever met and their wedding is sure to be amazing.  I can't wait.  You can see their gorgeous engagement pics by clicking [HERE}.

In leu of these changes I will be offering some fun themed sessions and discounts in the upcoming months.  The sun is out still there people I just know it!!  Even though it's still cold now, remember that sessions book up fast.  It seems that everyone waits until it gets warm and then it's pure madness!  Get ahead of the crowds and book ahead of time - which will assure that you get the date (and beautiful blossoms/flowers) that you want.

At the moment I am booking slots for MOMMY & ME {mini sessions} - and am offering $50 OFF for the first 5 sessions booked!!  These sessions are scheduled so that your included products will be done in time for Mother's Day - making them the ultimate Mother's Day gift for your Mom/Wife/Grandma/fill-in-the-blank.  Please help me by spreading the word to your family and friends.  Mini sessions are a wonderful way for me to meet new faces and connect with new friends!!!  I greatly appreciate your referrals - it's how I stay in business!

And at least, I shall leave you with a picture because what would a post be without one?  =)

Changes

Every night as I lay down to go to sleep I stop and think.  I think about things that happened, things I accomplished, things I didn't accomplish, things I did right, things I did wrong, things I need to do the next day - you get the point.  I just think.  Well last night as I was doing my nightly 'thinking' I just kept going over of all of these changes I want to make with my business this year.  One of those changes is how I write and interact here - on my site/blog.  To be more specific, I want to be more personal.  I want you to get to know me.  I really am fun, I swear - but you can't tell from my posts can you??  BORING!  So if you don't care about what I have to say, that's totally fine, just skip it and look at the pictures, which a lot of you probably do already.  But for the record one of my business goals for the coming year is to just be ME and let you - my clients, friends, family and readers - get to know me.  It's gonna be FUN!

Speaking of getting to know me - guess what I LOVE  ?  COMMENTS.  I love comments!! I love knowing what you think of my images (or anything else for that matter) and I love knowing that people are looking at my pictures!!  It makes my day!  So if you have a second to let me know your thoughts - please do!

A few other changes I will be making:  I will be adding a few collections (or packages) and other fun products to my product list which I will be announcing soon.  My pricing will change a bit for the new year as well - so check my pricing page for an updated list soon.  Who knows what else will change, but I have lots of ideas!!!  Now it's just a matter of finding TIME and ENERGY to make them happen!

Happy New Year!  Thank you for making last year such an awesome one for Brandilyn Davidson Photography.  I am so excited to see what 2011 has in store!

OH!! One new change I forgot to mention is the 'Search' link at the top of my site.  This is an awesome feature!  You can type in anything your little heart desires (Senior Portraits or Weddings for example) and it will search all of my posts for the key words you entered!!  Cool huh?  Give it a try!

the great american bake sale {johnson city tn photographer}

I am so happy I was able to be a part of such a great event!!  Thanks again to everyone who participated - by baking, volunteering time or buying goodies!!  Despite the {extremely} cold weather we had a great turn out!!

The Great American Bake Sale is a national fundraising effort that encourages Americans to host bake sales in their communities to help end childhood hunger.  100% of the proceeds will go towards this mission.  Did you know that nearly 1 in 4 children in America will struggle with hunger??  That's almost 17 MILLION kids!  I can't think of a better reason to load up on homemade goods and give what you can to children who need it!!!

I am so happy to announce that we raised almost $800 for the cause!!!!  Our goal was only $200!!!  Thank you again to EVERYONE who helped out in one way or another, it amazes me what we accomplish when we work together as one and how many good and giving people there are out there.  =)  I wish I would have taken more pictures, but here's a little glimpse into the day.

Helping Hands & Linking Arms {johnson city tn photographer}

On April 24th hundreds of volunteers throughout the southeast United States and parts of South America joined hands and put forth service at several projects throughout their communities.  This was part of the Helping Hands & Linknig Arms Day of Service.  I was privilaged enough to be a part of it - and somehow lucky enough to get out of shoveling or digging fence posts!  It was a beautiful day and even more beautiful was watching so many happy faces - old and young - serving their community.  I was assigned to take pictures at the opening ceremonies at Winged Deer Park as well as a fence repair project at Civitan Park and a step building project in the disk golf park at Winged Deer Park.  I wanted to share some of the shots I took throughout the day - and give thanks to all those who participated.  I am looking forward to what we can accomplish next year!!
