baby mykael - sneak peek {tri cities tn portrait photographer}

Poor Mykael was not in the mood for pictures yesterday.  He did awesome for the "most important shots" of him in his Virginia Tech uniform holding his mini soccer ball - that is - most important according to Dad.  =) But once we tried to get him nice and into the sleepy naked poses that we love, he was NOT having it!!  We eventually had to reschedule for a later date - which (again Mom and Dad) was no problem at all.  In light of this, I thought it might be a good time to give my current and potential clients some helpful insider info:

1.  {One of} My goal{s} with your session is to give you 20-40 amazing shots that I'd be proud and happy to have you hanging on the walls of your home for the next several decades.  If I'm unable to achieve that for whatever reason, I have no problem rescheduling to a later date.  I have kids.  I understand that they get sick, grumpy, crazy and well - unpredictable!!  Usually we can work through those kinds of kinks, but I never want to force a baby or young child into poses that will end in so-so images.  We're looking for GREAT here people!!  So just please know that I am in no way shape or form a "stickler" when it comes to almost anything.  Maybe I should be more of one, but I'm not.  So - I am looking forward to getting some super happy awesome pics of Mr. Mykael in the next coming months.  =)

2.  IMPORTANT:  Newborn sessions should be shot right at 7-14 days.  I know this is crazy.  Again, I have kids which means that I've given birth to them and know how insane it is the first several days and weeks (and years!! haha) after you get home from the hospital.  That's why it's so important to know this info. ahead of time so that you can tentatively plan your baby's session before he/she is born.  I think a LOT of people have no idea about this (and it's NOT your fault!!  I would have no idea either if it wasn't part of my job!).  That's why I thought it might be nice to let you know - in case you or someone you know is planning on a newborn session in the future.  Of course it's still possible to get those sleepy, curled up newborn poses that we all love with an older baby, it's much more difficult.

Okay!  Now for the good part - pictures!!  We didn't get too many shots of Mr. Mykael, but here are a couple of my favorites that I was able to snag.  Enjoy - and thanks again Mom and Dad!

baby madison - sneak peek {tri cities tn newborn photographer}

I think both Mom and I were expecting Miss Madison to be a difficult one considering that she's older than I normally like to shoot newborn sessions.  But what a surprise!!  She put up with us changing her, folding her, squeezing her and more - and only cried once!!  What a precious baby girl...   I had a great time with Mom, chatting while we waited for Miss Madison to get into a deep sleep.  I love when new moms are relaxed during the sessions, it makes my job so much easier!  Thank you and enjoy your sneak peek!

Be Mine Mini Sessions - Sneak Peek

I had such a fun time with all these adorable kiddos!!!  They were all great and gave me lots of super sweet smiles!  I love how each child is different - it's like I'm a detective on a mission to find out what will make him/her smile, and it cracks me up at some of the stuff that will make kiddos laugh.  I'm sure all the moms and dads think I'm crazy, but hey, I do what I gotta do!!  =)  Thanks for everyone who came, enjoy the sneak peek!

atti'TUTU'de shoot {johnson city tn photographer}

Jill, the owner of Atti'TUTU'de contacted me about getting some professional pictures taken of her SUPER cute products and of course I jumped for the opportunity!!  I enlisted my daughter as one of my models, however she is NOT a fan of having her pictures taken - it seems that the older she gets, the less and less she allows me to take her pictures which just KILLS me!!  But the other night she was all about it!! She did soooooo good and we had so much fun!! I'm so excited to have some good pictures of her...  But enough about my adorable daughter...  How cute are the other babies??  They all did so good and are so sweet... Little girls are so much fun!

Atti'TUTU'de - custom tutus, hair accessories, wings, wands & all things pretty for your little one.  You absolutely MUST check out her Etsy site - I'm in love with the feather headbands which I will hopefully get my hands on SOON.  Can you image a sweet little rolly newborn with one of those on her head??

Miss A - sneak peek {johnson city tn childrens photographer}

Seriously??? How CUTE is this baby girl??  She was soooooo wonderful too!  She put up with three outfits and lots of silly faces.  I'm so glad that both Mom AND Dad came because Mom made sure Miss A didn't fall over while Daddy stood behind me and  got all the smiles!!!  She was so good!  I hope you enjoy your sneak peek guys - and have a GREAT THANKSGIVING WEEKEND EVERYONE!!!!

M Family - Sneak Peek {Johnson City TN Family Photographer}

This was another special session because this is my OTHER best bud and her beautiful family.  The kiddos gave me a run for my money tonight, but we managed to get lots of cute shots despite their silliness.  I finally threw out the "Don't you DARE smile at me!!!" gig and they totally fell for it =) muah ha ha ha {evil laugh}  I just love them and are so grateful to have them as friends.  Hope you enjoy your sneak peek guys =)

J Family - sneak peek {Kingsport TN Family Photographer}

I will take pictures for this family any day!!  It is so fun to see my return clients - and how much they've grown since the last time I saw them!  Miss B was only a couple weeks old when I saw her last, so she's changed a LOT.  I still can't get over how CUTE she is!! She was all smiles - I don't think I heard even one whine out of her!!  It was fun to check out a new location as well - these were taking at The Netherland Inn in Kingsport.  There are tons more adorable ones, but here are a couple of my favorites!  Enjoy your sneak peek and thanks for a great evening guys - hope you got some rest!! {They drove in from a 10+ hour road trip THIS MORNING!}

O Family - sneak peek!! {johnson city tn family photographer}

Ohhhh my gosh this was the cutest bunch of kids EVER.  You would think a session with four kids under the age of 6 would be pure insanity, but it was such a fun and relaxing session!!  I had a blast playing and singing with the kids and talking with mom.  The kids were so sweet, well-behaved and fun.  The two oldest reminded me of my kiddos.  And the babies... how cute are they??  Gives me baby fever.  (not for twins though!)  PS: Props to Mom for getting all FOUR kids ready and happy before I even got there by herself!!  She's super mom!!  Thanks again for a great time guys - enjoy your sneak peek! =)  Lots more to come...

The Zito Family - Sneak Peek {Johnson City TN Family Photographer}

Well this session was going great until about 20 minutes in... dark clouds starting rolling in, it got instantly FREEZING and within minutes started pouring rain on us!!  We did the best we could with the conditions we were given and somehow managed to get lots of really cute shots still!

This was a very special session for two reasons: 1.  I love this family - Mom is one of my best friends, and seriously - how stinkin cute are they??  and 2:  I had a fabulous photographer's assistant with me.  She has six years of experience under her belt considering that she's "been taking pictures ever since she was born" haha  My daughter tagged along and did an amazing job at getting her little buddies to smile and laugh for the camera - and probably mom and dad too!!  It was fun to have her there, she was so excited to be able to come!!

Wish we could have had more time... guess we'll just have to do another session again soon!! Enjoy your sneak peek guys =)
