Behind the Scenes at Revolution Dance & Gymnastics Pictures 2012

I had a blast working with Dan Westover from Milestone Pictures while shooting the cuties at Revolution Dance & Gymnastics!  He put together this awesome video at a preview to the video he'll be doing for their recital.  I love it!!!!  I'm working on talking Dan into doing an event together sometime in the future... I'm thinking fall mini sessions or something along those lines??  Stay tuned!!  Enjoy!

It's recital season at Revolution Dance and Gymnastics! This past weekend the dancers came to the studio in their costumes for a fun photo shoot with Brandilyn Davidson Photography. It's always awesome to work with Brandy, and I thought it would be fun to capture the shoot on video as a lead-up to the actual recital on May 18th. I was joking with Kate and Stephanie that they must have a rule that only adorable girls can dance at their studio because wow, what a bunch of cuties! Hopefully this video will get everyone excited for the recital DVD. You can pre-order DVDs at Revolution for a reduced price from now up until the night of the recital. After the 18th they will be available at the regular price. See you at the recital!

Revolution Dance & Gymnastics Pictures 2012 - sneak peek

I had such a blast with all of the sweet and adorable girls at Revolution Dance & Gymnastics this weekend.  The costumes were amazing, the girls were perfect and we managed to have fun too!!  I think I scared some of the girls when I asked them if I could eat their fingers or toes, haha!  But even with me being the crazy, silly lady that I am, they were all super cooperative and well-behaved and like I mentioned before, so sweet!!

I had the pleasure of working with videographer Dan Westover of Milestone Pictures, who is working on a preview video for the upcoming recital and is going to incorporate some footage from picture time...  I can't wait to see it!

Thanks again to everyone who helped and was involved in making this year's dance pictures a huge success!!  I'm looking forward to next year's already!  Enjoy these images - DISCLAIMER: total cuteness below.  =)

These cutie pies are not only STINKIN' adorable - but they are talented too!!  Their recital is May 19th - so stay tuned for images from that too!  If you'd like to join in the Revolution Dance & Gymnastics fun - check out their website {CLICK HERE} or Facebook fan page {CLICK HERE}

Baby Addison - sneak peek {Kingsport TN Newborn Photographer}

I have had so many sweet babies in the studio lately!!  And they keep coming!  It's so much fun thinking of new ideas and ways to show off these precious new souls to the world.  Addison was a sweetheart and did awesome.  Once I finally got her into a deep sleep, there was no waking her!!  Mom and Dad were troopers - withstanding hours in the heat!!!  There are so many great images it was hard to hold back and not post them all!!!!  Welcome to the world sweet Addison - you're lucky to have such great parents (and family) who care about you so much!  Enjoy the sneak peek and remember...

Baby Brynlee - sneak peek {Bristol, VA Newborn Photographer}

I feel like it's been a little while since I had a sweet newborn in the studio and my was this the perfect session to kick things back into gear!!!  Brynlee was THE sweetest, sleepiest, quietest little precious soul I've ever met!!  She didn't even have an accident on ONE thing {which NEVER happens!!} well, besides Dad (hehe).  Mom and Dad were super laid back and fun to chat with, which I love.  Especially when we're spending 2-3 hours in a small EXTREMELY hot room together!  {Why so hot??  Keeping the room toasty helps baby to be comfy in his/her birthday suit and nice and sleepy, just the way we like them!}

There are so many more cute ones, but here are some to drool over until the rest are finished!!  Congratulations on a beautiful baby girl and enjoy your sneak peek!!  Thanks for an awesomesession!!!

Rue is ONE - sneak peek {East Tennessee Children's Photographer}

First of all... can I just say how SAD I am that this awesome and amazing family is moving away???  I had the privilege of taking Rue's newborn pictures {which you can see by clicking HERE} and have seen her several times over the past year.  I'm so glad it worked out to meet up before they left town to take Rue's 1st Birthday pictures!  She is such a doll...  I'm looking forward to seeing them when they come back to visit.  Enjoy the sneak peek and I'll miss you guys!!

On a personal note:  My house has been hit with sickness!!!  My poor baby ended up in the hospital and long story short - over a week has gone by and I feel like I'm just now emerging from my cave!!  Hence the lack of posts the last week and a half!  Thanks for your patience everyone!  I'm seeing the light at the end of the tunnel... {or cave - either way, there's light!!!}

Jennie Class of 2012 - sneak peek {Tri-Cities TN Senior Portrait Photographer}

I had a blast with Jennie last weekend when in California.  I flew out for a quick trip to surprise my mom {it was her 50th birthday!} and was able to squeeze in Jennie's session.  She'd been asking me to do her senior portraits for months and I thought for sure it would never work out.  I'm so glad it did - she's an awesome girl that I miss very much!!  Enjoy the pics - there are tons more where these came from...

Secretly Healthy and Super Yummy Turkey Meatballs

I'm always trying to sneak in healthy stuff to my kiddos, and it's a lot easier when they're oblivious to it.  I came up with this recipe a while back and my EXTREMELY picky kids BEG for me to make it.  We've made it a weekly tradition now and they have still yet to ask what the little green flakes are...  I think I'm a genious.  Anyway - I thought it would be fun to share the goodness with you!  Give it a try and let me know what you think!

PS:  They are SUPER easy, SUPER fast and like I mentioned, SUPER yummy!!!!

Zucchini and Turkey Meatballs

1 lb. ground turkey

2 small-medium zucchini, finely grated

1/2 white or yellow onion, finely chopped

1 egg white

2-3 garlic cloves, minced

1/2 cup plain or Italian style bread crumbs

1 Tbsp. freshly grated Parmesan cheese

1/2 teas. dried oregano

1/2 teas. dried basil

freshly ground pepper to taste

Preheat broiler.  Spray 2 rimmed cookie sheets with olive oil cooking spray.  Set aside.  In a large bowl, mix all ingredients together until well blended.  Use a Tbsp. to scoop mixture and use hands to form into balls.  Place 2 inches apart on prepared cookie sheets.

Bake meatballs under broiler for 5 minutes on each side until browned to perfection. I like mine a little on the dark side, but you can cook them however you like!!  Use a spatula to remove from cookie sheets.

Throw the meatballs into your favorite sauce, let them simmer for a bit, then serve over whole wheat pasta and top with some freshly grated Parmesan cheese.  Ta-da - you're done!!!

***I like to use whole wheat spaghetti - another great way to sneak in some healthy goodness to you and your family!  I also like to open up a can of diced tomatoes and throw those into my favorite pasta sauce!  I told you I was sneaky!!

- Enjoy -

PS: Don't mind the pictures - I took them with my phone!  Did I mention that I'm lazy too??  =)
