tutu happy!! {east tennessee portrait photographer}

This is my super duper adorable niece.  I was watching her for a couple hours the other day and thought I'd take advantage of her willingness to let me take pictures of her {unlike my own children}.  So got her all decked out in Atti'TUTU'de gear {adorable green tutu and vintage headband} and into the studio for a few quick shots.

Hanging out with this baby will seriously make any mother jealous because she is SO GOOD.  I mean SO. STINKIN. GOOD.  She doesn't cry, she's happy, she's super snuggly, she's completely adorable... I mean really??  If I was guaranteed to have babies like her I'd probably have ten of them!  Well, maybe not ten.  Anyways, here's a couple of my favorite shots AND a little taste of the giveaway that will be announced at the end of this week so stayed tuned!!!

We were getting ready to run to the store - the kids and my hubby were outside waiting for me {sooo typical}.  I run outside ready to go and my hubby stops me and points to my daughter.  I look over to see her sitting amidst hundreds of dandelions, decked out in her girlie dress {haven't seen her in pants in over a year, no joke} and her favorite pair of shoes at the moment - striped rain boots.

The sun was shining through the trees behind her - it looked almost magical.  If it were me, I probably would have raced to the car and went on my way - but I'm so glad my hubby saw this moment and helped me to stop and really see it too.  I grabbed my camera and somehow managed to talk her into throwing a headband into her {wild & crazy} hair.

What's even more magical about this moment is that she actually LET me snap a few pics of her.  All my friends know how much she does NOT enjoy having her picture taken.  I blame it on the fact that she's had a camera shoved in her face since the day she was born.  I always tell her one day she'll be happy I took so many pictures of her.  haha  One day.  I just love these pictures of her... I can't believe how old she's getting.  It really does go by way too fast.

I wonder what she was wishing for.

The B Family - sneak peek {east tennessee family photographer}

You may recognize this super sweet & adorable little guy from his newborn session not too long ago... it was so fun to see this awesome family again this evening!!  I love how relaxed and "up for anything" they are.  Anytime I ask them a question they just say, "Sure!  Whatever you think!"  We had to reschedule oh I don't know, about 57 times or so before finally getting together tonight - but today was the day!!  The weather was perfect and Mr. Reed was feeling much better from being sick last week.  All went well!  Thanks again guys - I love hanging out with you - makes me feel like I'm not working at all!  Enjoy your sneak peek!

The M Family - sneak peek {tri cities tn portrait photographer}

SO.  MUCH.  FUN.  That's what I have to say about this session tonight with the M Family!  Seriously, I love them!!!  The lighting this evening was perfection and as always, I love shooting at Tipton Haynes Historical Site.  Even more than that, I love when clients come relaxed, happy and up for anything.  It makes for not only a super smooth and enjoyable session, but awesome pictures!!   And to top it all off, they brought along "Aunt B" who was my sidekick and knew all the secrets to get Mr. Hudson to smile.  The pressure was on though because each time she'd get Hudson to give us a smile she'd say, "Did you get that??" haha!!  So many other funny moments I could tell you about {like me telling Houston {Dad} to smile in baby talk instead of Hudson {baby}!!  But I'm trying to get this up before midnight so that I can text Mom who's probably checking the site at this very moment!!  =)  And I have to catch a 6am flight in the morning!! The thought of it makes me tired...

Anyways, here's the goods - enjoy and again, thanks for an amazing session M Family - love you guys!!  Much more to come!

The L Family - sneak peek {johnson city tn family photographer}

I could seriously take pictures of this family every day.  No joke.  I first met them when I took Miss Aubrey's pictures back in November.  She was so happy, sweet and SO EASY to take pictures of!!  And to top it off, she stinkin' adorable!!!  This time I had the pleasure taking the whole family's pictures - along with Dad's parents who were in town for the weekend.  I think it had warmed up a TAD {key word: tad} from this morning, but it was still super cold.  However, it was perfectly overcast which makes for gorgeous lighting.  Miss Aubrey was also celebrating her 1st birthday, so we ended our session back at the studio to get some {warmer} shots of her in her birthday girl outfit.  The poor thing was worn out and her little teeth hurt, so you'll be seeing more of her birthday pics in the next few weeks when she's feeling better.  Thanks again you guys - and enjoy your sneak peek!!

Mr. Jayden & Miss Alayna - sneak peek {kingsport tn childrens photographer}

So I get a call this morning from Mom who's on her way to Johnson City for the day (they live about an hour and a half away).  She says, "This is probably crazy to even ask you this, but could you take pictures of my two kids today?"  Sure!!  It just so happened that I had my morning free, so we squeezed in an impromptu session for Jayden and Alayna - who both have birthdays this week!  The weather may look nice in the pics, but it was fffrrrrreeeeezzzzinnnngg!!!!  The poor kiddos were shivering and shaking, but we somehow managed to snag some adorable shots of them.  Big brother was AWESOME and such a good sport.  We ended the session with a drive back to my studio for a few {much warmer} shots!!  Enjoy your sneak peek guys - so glad I was able to spend time with you all today!!  Happy Birthday to Jayden and Alayna!!!  =)

baby ryan - sneak peek {northeast tennessee portrait photographer}

Is it just me or does it seem like everyone is having babies right now???  Newborn sessions are always interesting, and never the same.  Baby Ryan is only 5 days new, which is the ultimate perfect time for a newborn session.  Of course I was thinking it would be a breeze and that he would just sleep soundly while I moved him into different poses - but Ryan had other plans.  haha!!  He made us work for it, but it was all worth it.  One of my most favorite part of each session is popping my card in the computer and looking through all the images.  So fun!!

Mom is a good friend of mine and I love how laid back and relaxed she is.  I don't think she realized that she'd be there for over three hours {sorry Ariel!}!!  I've decided I should invest in some sort of convertible chair/bed {like the ones at hospitals} so that my new mommy clients can take a nap while I snap away!!  It could be part of the package - newborn session and a peaceful nap.  I'd be all over that.

Anyhoo - we got some great shots of Mr. Ryan and I'm so glad that he stuck it out and put up with me adjusting and moving him again and again.  He was a great sport.  Congratulations you guys, enjoy your sneak peek!!

You would think as a "mom-tographer" I'd post more pictures of my kids.  Well I WISH I could!!  Those little stinkers will hardly ever let me take their pictures.  I'm seriously considering hiring another photographer to take pictures of them so at least I'll have some good ones!!  I always joke with clients who are apologizing for their children's behavior that no children could be more difficult to photograph than my own!!  HOWEVER - once in a blue moon they let me, and I take FULL advantage!  This time it was Mariah - who's normally the more stubborn of the two.  I just love seeing pictures of them.  It gives me a small taste of how (I assume) my clients must feel when they see the images of their little cuties.  I need to get better about just getting out the camera and capturing the day to day stuff that I'm sure I wont remember in 20 years.  I want to capture these moments because they fly by wayyyyy to fast.  It seems like suddenly they are both so big, which means I am getting old.  Eww!!  They truly are my world.  My wild and crazy world.  I love them more than words can express and am so grateful for each day I get to spend with them.  Here are a couple that I snagged while we were playing at Nina's house last week...  =)  Aren't they cute??

MOM CHALLENGE:  Break out the point-and-shoot and snag pictures of your kids TODAY.  Try to enjoy this moment in time with them because in only a short time you will look back and realize it's already over!!!  <3

baby reed. sneak peek {tri cities, tn newborn photographer}

How cute is this guy??  I was once again worried how Mr. Reed would do seeing that he's 8 weeks old today - but he was great!  I think he only cried once the whole time!!  He even gave me some adorable smiles and sweet goo goos... I wanted to keep him (until bedtime of course, then give him back to Mom!).  Mom and Dad were awesome to hang out with too - laid back and relaxed - probably why Reed was the same way.  Thanks again guys for a fun session - enjoy your sneak peek!!
